Importance of Enhancing Thermal Camera Images

Thermal cameras detect objects by capturing the infrared radiation emitted from them. However, when the temperature of the background becomes similar to that of the objects, it becomes challenging to distinguish them clearly.

For example, during the early morning hours before sunrise in winter, the temperature of both objects and the surroundings drops significantly, causing the temperature difference to become minimal. As a result, thermal cameras struggle to differentiate between the objects and their background.

Similarly, in summer, the ground retains heat and cools slowly after sunset. When the ground and air temperatures converge, it becomes difficult for thermal cameras to distinguish between objects and their surroundings after dark.

Additionally, heavy rain can also pose a challenge. When everything becomes wet, the temperature differences between objects and their environment are reduced, making it harder for thermal cameras to provide clear imagery.

In these conditions, where the temperature difference is small, thermal camera images can appear blurred or indistinct. Our video enhancers can effectively improve such blurred images, enhancing clarity and making objects more distinguishable in challenging environments.
